    Video Walls

    XtremeVision is also compatible with the EMS XtremeRGB range of video capture cards for systems requiring SD, HD, RGB or DVI video overlays. Video windows can be positioned and sized anywhere on the multi-screen display. Using the Vision range of capture cards combined with the XtremeVision, high end video wall systems can be constructed supporting up to 40 displays with 128 SD windows and 32 HD/RGB/DVI windows.

    The iVu4-Hpro video wall / Multi-Screen controller helps in combining 4 (1×4) LCD displays to produce one large video wall. The iVu4-Hpro receives and displays the images or video content on any size LCD monitor with a selectable display mode and supports a maximum resolution of up to 4096 x 768 input video wall controller, 1 Dual-link DVI input, 4 Single-link DVI-D output (1 x 4) 1024×768 per display. The iVu4-Hpro is compatible with any brand of LCD monitor and suitable for large display applications in large advertising, medical imaging, simulation inc. flight, radar, gaming etc.., shopping centres, public gathering locations, fairs and exhibitions, sporting or music events.

    To buy a large display for advertisement, for example 64 or 84 inches LCD, is too high to afford. A video wall is a group of smaller displays tiled together in a matrix to create one large display. EMS provides the controller box that drives the display over multi-screens. All the video wall controllers support different configurations of the video output signals. The videowall control (OSD) buttons are located on the front panel of the video wall controller for easy access, while all the video and power cables are connected to the rear panel for convenient cabling. The video controllers can be connected to LCD or DLP panels, video wall cubes, projectors or any monitor that accepts a DVI input signal.

    The features of the iVu4-Hpro video wall controller include:

    The iVu4-Hpro video wall controller supports various display modes that include:

     
    • Clone mode (1×1): The iVu4-Hpro unit displays the same content on the four screens
    • Full mode (1×4): The iVu4-Hpro unit divides the input image into four sections and places each 1/4 image per screen to fit to the selected resolution on each monitor. The full display also support mask enable and disable.
    • Up to 4096×768 Dual-Link DVI input and up to 4 * 1024×768 outputs per display
    • On Screen Display/Remote control functions for selecting; Display mode; Output resolution; Border mask enable/disable and frame wideness adjustment.
    • Bezel mask or screen border adjustment, this is quite an important function, normally the display will be ’staggered” from screen to screen due to the use of conventional LCD/Plasma displays, but with this function you can adjust the display to be seamless, e.g mask-out the screen bezel enabling a visually seamless display.
    • RS-232 communication for remote control (if required)
    • Easy-DIY to install and control the videowall or multi-screens, either from a PC, Laptop, Remote control or Front Panel.
    • Multiple units can be used for larger screen configurations, e.g. by installing a dual channel graphics card into a PC then two iVu4-Hpros can be connected to enable a 1×8 video wall / multi-screen display or one iVu4-Hpro can be cascaded to four further units to enable a 1×16 videowall / multiscreens. All iVu controllers can be “mixed & Matched” to enable various display configurations.
    • Optional Live DVI/VGA video insertion, the XtremeRGB (optional purchase) can be installed within the PC that controls the iVu4Hpro, this will enable not only a videowall/multi-screen display with all of Windows applications, but also live video from other sources that provide DVI or VGA outputs, such as Servers, Workstations, Hdmi players, DVI cameras etc..

    The iVu4-Hpro displays the content on three screens only.** Portrait Mode is also supported, e.g. Screens can be rotated by 90 degrees.   The iVu4-Hpro divides the input image into four sections and stretch the 1/4 image to fit to the selected resolution each monitor.     The XtremeRGB-Ex1 captures the display output (component HD, HDMI, analog RGB or single link DVI) from one source and then displays it as an independent application on your display screen.  This is done in real time, enabling you to view data from PCs, MACs, industrial/medical equipment, cameras and other video equipment.

    RGB Streaming:
    For streaming applications, the XtemeRGB-Ex1 can be used with Directshow applications such as Windows Media Encoder / VLC etc… to compress and stream captured video. To replay the video, use Windows® Media Player. Any application compatible with Windows DirectShow technology can use the XtremeRGB-Ex1 due to its built-in WDM support.

    XtremeRGB Software:
    The XtremeRGB is supplied with a powerful software application for configuring the timing and format of the input sources and displaying the data. Simply connect your external DVI or Analog source into the card, run the XtremeRGB application to automatically detect the video source format and display the captured video in a window on your desktop. You can also use the software application to record and capture the Analog data at high frame rates and play it back using the EMS XtremeRecorder and XtremePlayer applications. The captured video data is displayed in a desktop window with/without menu/borders. The captured display can be resized up/down, overlapped and/or maximized to full screen display. For multi-channel capture display simply run the application multiple times and choose the appropriate input channel to display.

    PhynxVCR
    For DirectX WDM drivers we also offer our PhynxVCR digital recorder, similar to the Windows Media Encoder for AVI recording but with a more user friendly interface. The PhynxVCR can record the incoming analog/DVI video and the on-board audio together into an ‘AVI’ file. The recorded file can be uncompressed or compressed using whatever codec’s that are installed within the Windows Media System.

    Hardware Overview:
    The XtremeRGB-Ex1, a standalone PCIe x4 plug in card, delivers extreme performance with 480MB/s transfer bus bandwidth. This high industrial performance makes the XtremeRGB series ideal for a wide range of applications.
    The XtremeRGB-Ex1 has one capture channel supporting up to 1920×1080 DVI (1920×1200 with reduced blanking) or 2048×1536 VGA resolutions.  The XtremeRGB-Ex1 captures the Analog/DVI data and triple buffers it into onboard storage.  This data is then copied using Direct Memory Access (DMA) to the host system for display, storage or streaming.  The included application includes option to either transfer video data direct to the graphics card thereby increasing performance or to transfer video data to the graphics card via system memory.
